is the business model of bringing goods and services to the market through a network of independent contractors referred to as distributors (or independent business owners, sales consultants, franchise owners, associates, affiliates, etc). The structure is designed to create a marketing sales force of independent business agents who are compensated not only for sales they personally generate, but also for creating a downline of distributors and a hierarchy of multiple levels of compensation. There is a myth by some that Network Marketing is an Illegal Pyramid Scheme.
