Network Marketing:

The business model of bringing goods and services to the market through a network of independent contractors referred to as distributors (or independent business owners, sales consultants, franchise owners, associates, affiliates, etc). It is also known as multi-level marketing (MLM). Some of the most well known network marketing companies worldwide are Amway, Mary Kay, Tupperware, Avon and Shaklee (to name a few). The structure is designed to create a marketing sales force of independent business agents who are compensated not only for sales they personally generate, but also for creating a downline of distributors and a hierarchy of multiple levels of compensation.

There is a myth by some that Network Marketing is an Illegal Pyramid Scheme.

Do you really believe that Amway, Tupperware, Avon , Shaklee and etc. are illegal Network Marketing Business Opportunities? I think we all can agree that these are very reputable companies whose sales force has been compensated very well for their efforts. That does not mean that there are no illegal companies out there because we all know there is. Before you join any company, make sure you they are stable and have a consumable product or legitimate service. Network marketing (direct sales) is a genuine, respectful home based business opportunity and I am proud to be a part of this industry.
